Editorial Policy & Commercial Disclosure

Best Accounting Malaysia is committed to providing factual, up-to-date, and unbiased information. We follow rigorous fact-checking procedures and maintain strict separation between editorial content and commercial partnerships.

1. Editorial Independence

Our mission is to help Malaysian SMEs, startups, and international businesses understand local tax and statutory compliance. Our editorial team develops guides, analysis, and rankings independently.

  • No Paid Ranks: Accounting firms cannot pay to improve their rank or guarantee placement on our lists.
  • Evidence-Based Scoring: Rankings and comparisons are determined solely using the objective criteria detailed on our How We Rank page.
  • Zero Endorsement Guarantees: While we highlight notable strengths for specific business sizes or sectors, we do not claim any single firm is universally best for every business.

2. Commercial Relationship with AFA Strategic Consultancy

In accordance with international advertising standards (including FTC guidelines) and Malaysian consumer protection principles, we openly disclose all commercial relationships:

Featured Partner Status: AFA Strategic Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Registration: 202001025203 / 1381523-H) is our featured corporate advisory partner.

Nature of Collaboration: AFA contributes professional technical insights regarding corporate secretarial practice, Cross-Border (Johor–Singapore) structuring, and SME tax compliance. In return, AFA is highlighted as our featured advisory partner on selected pages.

Impact on Scores: AFA's status as a featured partner does not exempt them from our evaluation rubric, nor does it allow them to alter editorial evaluations or censor comparative coverage of other Malaysian firms.

3. Sources & Fact-Checking

Malaysian taxation and company regulations change rapidly. To ensure technical reliability:

  • Primary sources are cited throughout our guides, including HASiL (LHDN) guidelines, Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) announcements, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) statutory rules, and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
  • All numerical tax figures, registration thresholds (such as RM 500,000 for SST), and statutory penalties are verified against current gazetted legislation.
  • Content is stamped with both Published and Updated dates so readers can evaluate recency.

4. Corrections & Updates

We actively correct factual errors, outdated rates, or broken references. If you identify an error, please email us with the page URL and official documentation. We review and update verified corrections promptly.
